πŸ“Œ (1901) - Physical Exercise was one of the subjects introduced in the public schools and regular program of athletics was developed

πŸ“Œ (1905) - Baseball and track and field events were introduced and taught to the young boys in school

πŸ“Œ(1909) - Athletic program for schools was inaugurated and much emphasis was given to the playing of western sports and the couching of tennis

πŸ“Œ(1910) - Basketball was first introduced as a game for girls in the Carnival Meet held in Manila but discontinued in 1914

πŸ“Œ(1911) - "Athletic Handbook" was published

πŸ“Œ(1914) - Teachers Vacation Assembly in Manila- gave special training for Filipino teacher for training various physical education activities including physical education program

πŸ“Œ(1919) - "Physical Education: A Manual for teachers" was published- edited by Frederick O. England ( playground Director of the City of Manila

πŸ“Œ(1920) - Physical Education was made a required subject in the curriculum of all public schools

πŸ“Œ 78% grade rate is needed grade four to the fourth - year high school

πŸ“Œ 1928 - Summer school for coaching

in the Development of the economy of the Philippines

In Pre- Spanish Period. Negritos of Aetos Nomadic and wondering tribe's hunting with the use of bow and arrows for the survival in the quest of food and protect against the hostile environment. They run,leap, jump, and climb. Also skilled in swimming, diving, fishing , throwing and dancing. Thier physical activities consisted of producing foods through planting and cultivating the mountainsides. Thier dancing was a form of religious activity too . To please their God, to cure thier sick, to call for the rain when drought occurs after a bountiful harvest,for a victory in the tribe war called"canao"

They are one of the reasons why the Philippines economy is Rich. And there was a variant culture because of dances like Lanceros,Mazurka Polka. And also the ceremonial dance Santacruzan.And Filipino games like Pabitin, Palo sebo, Sungka and Juego de Anillo.
